The Conscious Agora Ecovillage Is Looking For New Members!

Hey guys, Derek Bros here, and some of you know that in 2017 I came up with this idea for the Conscious Agora Eco Village, a community that would be based around permaculture, mutual aid, volunteerism, and mindfulness, trying to build a better world and become a better person. Well, this was just an idea in my head back in Texas, but then in 2020 the project became real when me and my love Miriam Hi everyone! And we have been working on the Concha Segura Eco Village now for the last 6 years. We've been through a lot of stuff getting the human side of things done, from our conflict resolution, decision-making, and long story short, we've added now 6 households including us. We are now at the point where we're ready to add a couple more.

That's right. And so you will learn more about what we are looking for in new members. Make sure that you email us at [email protected]. That's right. And first and foremost, we just want to say that we are in Mexico, so we are looking for folks that speak Spanish, ideally fluently, but definitely intermediate, I would say. And also, since we're in Mexico too, folks that are familiar with Mexico, have visited Mexico. You don't need to live here, but you have been here before, or at least Latin America, some experience with Latin America in general.

Yeah, so as Miriam said, we do have criteria. We started out very open and broad, but now as we're getting to our last 2 to 3 plots that we have available. We have criteria, and Spanish is at the top of the list. Bonus points if you have permaculture knowledge and building knowledge.

Yeah.

And all that good stuff. And please guys, don't even bother emailing us if you're not serious. Whether you are an individual, a family, a couple, if you are not ready to move to Mexico right now, if we invited you, then please don't bother reaching out. We are looking for serious candidates. So that means there will be an application fee. There is a vetting process that we've worked long and hard on putting together. So if that sounds like something you're interested in, you want to move to Mexico, be a part of this 23-acre land we have here with these beautiful avocados and many more fruits we have here. We have guayaba. We'll show you guys the water in just a second. But again, if you're not— if this is not something you're ready to do, it's just more like an idea in your head one day you might do, then please don't bother reaching out to us because we're looking for serious candidates only.

Yeah, we're looking to build an eco-village out here, an education center. We're looking to produce different products from the land that we create ourselves, as well as have events out here, um, healing ceremonies, have, um, everything that we do at the People's Reset, if you're familiar with it, and bring it out here to the land and offer that to, um, to anybody and everybody who wants to join us and exit and build as well.
